History of RussiaOnline ClassesIn this three-part virtual series, we’ll become acquainted withsome of the more prominent members of both the Rurik Dynasty(think Ivan the Terrible) and the Romanovs (think Peter theGreat, Catherine the Great, and the last Tsar, Nicholas, who,along with his family, was murdered during the Communist Revolution in 1918.)In Part One, Moscow, we will visit Moscow, riding the Metro to Red Square,where we will view the Kazan Cathedral and the iconic onion-domes of St. Basil’s(pictured), and Lenin’s Tomb, both during the daytime and at night. We will tourthe Kremlin, watch the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier,and visit Cathedral Square that houses the ancient cathedrals where once theTsars were crowned and later buried.In Part Two, Waterway of the Tsars, we will learn a bit about the last RurikTsar, Ivan the Terrible, before boarding our Viking Riverboat, “The Rurik,” for ourcruise along the 683-mile Waterway of the Tsars to St. Petersburg, stopping alongthe way to visit cultural and historical villages.In Part Three, St. Petersburg, we will disembark at our destination, St.Petersburg, founded by the Romanov Tsar, Peter the Great. We’ll tour theHermitage Art Museum, Catherine’s extravagant Palace, Peterhof with itsmagnificent gardens and fountains, and the fortress and Cathedral of Peter andPaul, which houses the tombs of the ruling Romanovs and the remains of TsarNicholas and his family.Fall 2026 -

Whether it is for an hour after school orseveral hours a day during the summer, being trusted to be home alone can be a positive experiencefor a child who is mature and well prepared. This class for children will address several topics relatingto being “Home Alone” including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after school routines, phonecalls and door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, handling the unexpected, gun safety,severe weather, fire safety, intruders, and first aid tips. Hula Hoop DancingClassesGroup Hula Hoop Dancing lessons. Learn body mechanics, basics of hooping, and tricks. We will set your skills to music and complete a choreographed dance to celebrate at the end. Lessons include Hula Hoop basics, building a foundation of waist hooping, learning how to use on and off body, hooping on arms, and learning tricks. Learn and practice a choreographed dance together. Intro to CheerleadingCheerleading/DanceAthletes learn the fundamentals of cheerleading, including motions, jumps, stunts, pyramids, and cheer dance routines. Coaches focus on technical elements to help participants build skills and confidence. Athletes may advance to a higher level by aging up or by testing their skills. Competition is optional but highly encouraged as a fun opportunity for athletes to showcase their hard work and new skills on a big stage. The competition will be held on 12/13, and uniforms and other equipment will be available for purchase through CFA mid-season. Intro to Fencing, Ages 8+ClassesFencing is a vigorous sport that develops stamina, quick reactions, speed, accuracy of movement and excellent coordination. More than a game, fencing requires a mental attitude of self-discipline involving total manipulation of mind and body in perfect harmony. It utilizes natural body movement to create simple and effective self-protection techniques with the sword. All participants are encouraged to have fun no matter what their ability. Attacking, defense, timing and intense tactics are all integrated into this beginning class. We can provide fencing gear (mask, jacket, glove, and weapon). Fencers should come dressed comfortably (for freedom of movement) including long sweat pants and running shoes.Fall 2026 -

Intro to WritingClassesThis class will explore the many types of writing, from journalism and essays to creative writing and playwriting. Week one will focus on fiction. Week two will shift into non-fiction, but will draw in the creativity of week one. Guided by experienced instructors, participants will develop balance, confidence, and fundamental skating techniques in a supportive environment. Free skate rentals (hockey or figure skates) are available for all participants. MN Permit to Carry CertificationSpecialty ProgramsObtain or renew your permit to carry certificate with our expert-led course. Taught by an experienced instructor, shooter, and coach with 28 years of law enforcement experience, this certification is valid for one year. Some basic handgun experience is expected, but introductory classes can be arranged with the instructor. Students should bring drinks, lunch, a handgun, and 50 rounds of ammunition. These can be provided by the instructor with advanced notice. Participants must be 18 years old and present a government-issued photo ID. You must be 18 years old to apply for the permit.
