Fun With Clay For Kids
Students use various hand building techniques (such as pinching, coiling and rolling slabs) to make their own clay creation. Instructor will give some project ideas or kids can bring their own and we will do our best to accommodate them. This way, your child can let their imagination run wild and create something truly unique! Students decorate with colorful glazes to finish. All work fired in the kiln and ready for pick up in 3 weeks. -

Learn how to make a clay pumpkin using pinch pots! Make your pumpkin scary, cute or silly by adding eyes, teeth, and other distinctive features then add details with glaze. We will fire them in the kiln and your creation will be ready for pickup in 3 weeks! -

Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) Program, Gr. 4+
The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from the American Safety and Health Instituteprovides everything you need to know for safe and successful babysitting. The YouTube “vlogger”style presentation of the video brings a youthful and high-energy spirit to the program content alongwith handouts, demonstrations, and additional resources. At the end of class, the students will receivetheir certification card along with instructions to access a digital copy of the Child and BabysittingSafety (CABS) Student book. From getting started with your business, to collaborating with parentsand children, to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips, CABS will help set you up for babysittingsuccess. Students must be present for the entire class and complete achievement of the corelearning objectives to receive certification valid for two years. Students attend this classindependently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Enter Red wing High School through door #10. -

Is your child ready for the independence of being home alone? Parents need to be sure their childrenhave the skills and maturity to handle the responsibility safely. Whether it is for an hour after school orseveral hours a day during the summer, being trusted to be home alone can be a positive experiencefor a child who is mature and well prepared. This class for children will address several topics relatingto being “Home Alone” including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after school routines, phonecalls and door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, handling the unexpected, gun safety,severe weather, fire safety, intruders, and first aid tips. Students attend this class independently andshould come prepared with a notebook and pen. Parents are encouraged to review the take homeinformation and discuss it with their child. Rustic Pumpkin
A great first project - Come make your own rustic pumpkin! You'll learn how to make some sawdust on the miter saw, band saw, and table saw as we make this project. No experience is necessary. Classes will be held at SawRise Woodworks, 436 W 3rd St in Downtown Red Wing. -
Adult & Me Woodworking
Join your little in their first woodworking project! Using pre-cut pieces, they will learn how to use a hammer safely and get lots of practice nailing together their pumpkin in October's class, while in December assembling a tree where they can add "ornaments" and fairy lights to complete the look. No experience is necessary. Classes will be held at SawRise Woodworks, 436 W 3rd St in Downtown Red Wing. -
Cookie Decorating Class, Gr. 3-8
Join Leah Ahlgrim from Sweet Em’s Cookies and Cakes to learn all about decorating cookies with royal icing! Students will learn about icing consistencies, how to flood their cookies, and many piping techniques to decorate a half dozen of their very own Spring/Easter themed cookies. All supplies and a box for students to carry home their creations are included. -
Egg Carton Portraits
Use your imagination and some simple supplies to create a framed portrait of your favorite animal! Add a fun outfit and accessories, decorate your frame, and place them on a background to create a character with unique personality! -
Middle School Cupcake Wars, Gr. 5-7
Middle School students join us for the sweetest battle of the year! Teams will design and decorate cupcakes inspired by your favorite foods. Cupcakes and toppings will be provided. -
Clay Ornaments for Kids
Students will create their own custom Christmas ornaments! The instructor will demonstrate how to roll a clay slab to cut out shapes for ornaments and then how to attach clay pieces together to create texture and details. Students will also paint their creations with colorful glazes. We will fire them in the kiln and ornaments will be ready for pick up in 3 weeks! Each participant can make several ornaments. -
Young Engineers, Ages 6 - 11
Students will engage in a variety of engineering and building challenges, with an emphasis on hands-on learning through the use of Lego building blocks. This is a great class for young students who love to build and play with Legos! -
Child's Play Theatre - The Legend of Katastrophe Kate, Gr. 1 - 8
Hold on to your tumbleweeds 'cause here comes the legendary Katastrophe Kate, the most dangerous woman in the West! Whaddaya mean you never heard of her!!? Didn't ya know that Texas has a panhandle on accounta she was such a great cook?! This Tex-Mex tall tale begins when Katherine, a mild-mannered, Eastern-born and bred protegee of world-famous chef, Madame Julia Enfant, must transform herself into Katastrophe Kate in order to conquer the Wild West with her chili recipe. In a steamy cook-off at Miss Lillian's Saloon, Kate also has a little romance simmerin' on the back burner with her arch rival, Jose Habanero, who claims to have the hottest chili in the Southwest. Into the melting pot, throw in some dancin' girls called the Fosse Posse, add a dash of international outlaws for spice, and pepper it with a prying reporter named Penelope Penmore, and you have a recipe for one red-hot, Texas chili party! Auditions held the first day of rehearsal. M, Tu, Th, F = 3:45 PM - 5:45 PM (Nov. 16, 17, 19, 20, 30, Dec. 1, 3)W = 3:45 PM - 5:00 PM (Nov. 18, Dec. 2)No Class: Nov 23 - 26Performance on Dec. 3 at 6:30 PM. Please send a snack for students. Holiday Tree
Kick off the holidays learning how to safely use tools in the shop to make your own decorated tree! You will learn how to measure and safely use the shop tools. After cutting, assembling, and painting your trees, you can complete it by adding fairy lights and "ornaments"! No experience is needed. Kids create their own clay tic-tac-toe board and pieces with their own custom design. How about a lily pad board with frog and fly pieces, a pizza board with pieces that are pepperonis and mushrooms, or anything you can dream up! Finished projects ready for pick up in approximately 3 weeks. -
